Learn to use your garden and herbal harvest in this fun workshop. Utilize your beautiful summer harvest for herbal oils, herbal salves, herbal tinctures, personal care products and culinary delights.
In this fun and informative workshop students will make an herbal tincture from one of their choice of a few summer harvest herbs. Students will learn many ways to utilize their harvest and in class learn step by step instructions to make the tincture.
Each student will make a tincture to take home. All materials are included in the workshop and all experience levels are welcomed.
We will also learn about other ways to use their summer harvest i.e. the herbal oils, herbal salves, herbal tinctures, personal care products and culinary uses.
Most big box stores that sell herbal oils sell adulterated versions. Making your own herbal products ensures the strength and quality of the products and offers the opportunity to create personal wellness.
Whether you are starting or adding to your home apothecary, this workshop will expand your knowledge of herbal wellness and assist in nature connection.
Your Instructor: Karen Clarke is a healer and teacher of varied traditions with a deep connection to nature and plants. Master herbalist, earning a degree from Green Wisdom School of Natural and Botanical Medicine in Alma, Wisconsin. Master Gardener and Master Naturalist. She is a garden consultant, garden designer and herbalist. She is a Siksika Blackfoot Medicine person and sacred pipe carrier. Reiki Practitioner and Master Healer. Teacher training with Billie Topa Tate at MSI in Evanston, and has studied with Billie Topa Tate since 2004. She studies traditional women’s medicine and TEK (traditional ecological knowledge) with Grandmother, Elder, Moonie kwe, Dbik Gii’ zhigate-kwe Anishinaabe-kwe from Ontario, Canada Atikameksheng Anishnawbek.
