How to Meditate in Emergencies by Billie Topa Tate

Dear Busy Mystic,

It all begins with a our daily schedule… In addition to our daily projects we may encounter a crisis or stressful event that surprises us and takes us off our center.

Today, I will share with you a wonderful short burst change to integrate into our busy schedule. Stress slowly creeps up on us and we find ourselves emotionally stressed, and sometimes we encounter a crisis.

During these difficult times of stress we often forget self care practices. It is very important to find ways of using energetic techniques to intervene and provide opportunities for not only self care but wisdom filled practices.  This will help our body and mind to stay in a more productive place and strive for happiness and peace.

Today you’ll find that these simple techniques will help you to be in a more productive and peaceful place when crisis occurs.

Just as a point of information – practicing meditation on a daily basis anchors and promotes a wisdom filled breath that helps us to be more present, wise and peaceful even under the most stressful conditions.

Here are some great techniques to use to quickly go into a more peaceful place during crisis, trauma and stressful activities.

1) The Panic Diffuser 
One of the most simple and powerful techniques used by advanced meditation practitioners is known as the panic and or worry diffuser. This is also sometimes referred to as the thought and emotion stopping technique.

First, if you find that you’re going into panic during a crisis – do the following – sharply say to your mind “STOP”. Use a very loud internal voice so that your mind sees you mean business. If it’s possible and you are by yourself , say it out loud.  After you say “STOP”. focus on your breath. Breathe in through your nose and then release the breath through the mouth ( this will relieve the tension ) relax your shoulders and then breathe in through your nose slowly as if you are at the ocean and as you exhale- exhale slowly through the mouth while relaxing your jaw, your shoulders, your neck and your spine. Continue the breath and now breathe in and out of your nose.

Once you have calm down and can think more productively, continue what you’re doing by moving calmly to tend to whatever needs to be done.

2) Heart Center Intervention
Your heart center has a vibration that will help you during the times of emergencies and crisis. This technique is simple and powerful and will help you even when you’re trying to get projects done.

Place your less predominate hand on the middle of your chest focusing on your heart if you like you can place both hands one on top of the other on the heart center. The next thing is allow for your breath to shift into the heart imagining healing light coming from your heart and emanating out from the chest into the entire body. Focus on the heart center like a sphere of light. Let it emanate out to the entire body as you do this allow for the breath to come in through your nose then exhale through your mouth a couple of times and then coming back to a few moments of syncing your breath with the rhythm of a peaceful soft slow beat of your heart.  Inhaling and exhaling through your nose.

As you calm down invoke to have wisdom as you move forward to resolve whatever is in front of you

These are wonderful tools to help you during an emergency or crisis. Remaining calm and centered is the most important energy for any crisis or stressful situation.

An interesting point here is that police officers, nurses, paramedics and firefighters all prepare very well for a crisis so when a crisis comes they know what to do. This is very much like your meditation practice. If we meditate every day we will go into that sacred breath that will allow us to do what we need to do but not in a stressful way.

MANTRA WELLNESS TECHNIQUES by Billie Topa Tate

During my mystical journey of learning how energy works and how our mind, body and spirit uses energy, I came across mantra’s and energy tools to stay focused.  This would infuse my energy by not allowing my mind to lead me down a stressful and depleted thought path which robs us all of vitality and meaningful focus.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to what I call “Mantra Wellness.   The word Mantra typically means a tool to focus the mind.  Mantra’s  are also a set of words that are repeated with simple variations of breath that helps the mind shift a thought process to a higher vibration thus freeing us of a overwhelming idea that we are either feeling emotionally exhausted or somehow losing our vitality.

There are so many ways of using mantra.  You do not have to sit and take long periods of time to say a mantra.  These days we are very busy mystics and I have found that a meaningful string of words can shift of breath, thinking and reboot our nervous system.  Which helps us take the plunge of getting things done while still achieving balance during our daily activities.   I like to say… “Find Your Balance – Find Your Peace”

Here are some Mantra’s you can use to achieve oneness with peace and wisdom…

  • When you feel like you have lost your harmony and peace
    Mantra: “I place in my mind what I would like to see and this will set it in motion, because everything is energy and energy follows thought”
  • When you feel that someone in your life is not adding value
    Mantra: “I will set my energetic boundaries within my mind to create what I feel I need in the quality of honor and wisdom, and this will be my anchor to manifest my new tools”
  • When you feel overwhelmed and rushed with a project or task
    Mantra: “ I have the time I need to do this project because time and space will be launched through my breath and my thoughts, my breath will be filled with grace and wisdom”
  • A general and powerful mantra that can be used in most situations is
    Mantra: Om Shanti Shanti, Om Shanti Shanti, Om Shanti Shanti.   Use your breath like you are smelling a wonderful fragrant flower which helps sweeten the mantra

These mantras will help you relax your mind, body, spirit and find your sacred balance and also build stress resilience.

Lunar Eclipse & Full Moon Free Guided Meditation

Happy Lunar Eclipse & Full Moon in the sign of Capricorn.  This time is pressing us to look more closely at the needs and wants in our lives regarding our private lives, our need for a home base, and nurturance (represented by the Sun in Cancer).  These aspects versus our public lives, careers, reputation, and accountability (represented by the Sun’s opposition to the Moon in Capricorn).

This is a good time for gentle cleanses, gentle detoxing of body, mind and spirit. You are welcome to use our free meditation on our website for a gentle energy cleanse called the loving kindness meditation. Also, because of all the eclipses this month we have a heightened awareness of the inner workings of our lives, particularly in our career and our home and family.  Decisions made now may be emotionally driven, that is why mediation is so important.

This Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon is aligned with Pluto and is powerful and complicated at once. The need to take action might feel urgent, but it’s better to adopt a wait and see approach since there is quite a bit of exaggeration energy at the time of the eclipse.

Simple Steps to Creating a Sacred Intention…

  • Sanction a quiet moment   Take time to sanction a quiet time for you to totally focus on your expressed desire ( sacred intention ), this could be 5- 10 minutes or as long a 30 minr depending upon the depth of the sacred intention.
  • Create a mindful wisdom filled expressed desire – option to write down your sacred intention.  This step is about either writing down your sacred intention or formulated your thoughts, images and emotions about what you are asking for.
  • Expression of divine love – Think of a time when wonderful friend, teacher or even a loving companion animal has touched your life and has spent precious time with you. During these thoughts, images and feelings, experience divine love.

Happy New Moon …

This wonderful New Moon will last up to 4 weeks. The end of one cycle (which was quite interesting) and the beginning of a powerful new cycle. This month provides an infusion of energy and a new fresh start which can help anyone launch an important part of their dreams.

The heavens provide an avenue of wonderful energy.  The best possible way to prepare for the New Moon (Friday April 5th) is to concentrate on our energy toward new wisdom filled thoughts and timeless ancient traditions.  Wonderful examples are meditation, clearing our energy field and strategizing on what we want to represent to the world and our journey.

Yoga and Meditation Equals Peace of Mind

Yoga and Meditation have been the topic of many articles but have you consider the story of a wonderful Apache family living the Yoga and Meditation connection. It all started many many moons ago Meditation and Yoga are so very important to our journey we call life. Both practices allow us to have that sacred time with ourselves which helps us to become aware of our strengths as well as our limitations and be guided by higher thought to become more and more wisdom filled and happy.

These qualities of wisdom and happiness are natural qualities which guide us to walk the world from a giving place. I remember when I was growing up, I was inspired by my mother and father as they walked this world with great reverence for nature and our native Apache principles. Mama Little Wolf and Papa Little Wolf ( my mother and father ) were like gentle giants, I was a small child feeling their love and respect for all animals, plants and nature.

As we walked across the desert heading out for the day, they would stop as the sun was rising to express a sacred intention, launch a sacred breath with the Creator and connect with their higher purpose for the day and for their lives.  My mother would say that we all have our personal energy and it is our goal to learn how to guide this personal energy to navigate our journey we call life and for us ( the Apache tradition ) especially during sun rise and sunset, the 2 times that we have quiet moments for guiding our day and evening.  My mother said that the Creator gifted us with many things, two of them being  Sunrise and Sunset, according to our stories, the Creator gifted these two times to provide us with a opportunity to view this beautiful moment and reset our breath, refresh our thoughts and connect with the Universe.   As a very young girl viewing this wonderful effort of intention I was inspired to use meditation and honor my self care of what  people would call yoga to facilitate a wonderful flow of energy and balance.  

My father Papa Little Wolf would show me how nature would demonstrate this practice to maintain good health and what we call ” Sacred Balance”   the balance of breath, meditation, exercise and our daily work.    Papa Little Wolf would show me how the animal kingdom would do their daily activities and also maintain balance by using breath and stretching ( yoga ) to achieve optimal energy flow through out the body mind and spirit.    I often see this when we do yoga postures for example  – spinal energy flowing postures and heart opening positions.    My teacher conveyed to me many years ago, the more light that is administered within the body, the faster the body can facilitate wonderful energy flow and thus healing our thoughts, feelings and vitality. Light means creating energy space through movement, breath and quieting the mind through meditation.    Mama Little Wolf and Papa Little Wolf truly showed me that we live with many kingdoms on this wonderful earth we call home.   All of these kingdoms have their gifts to help us during our meditation and yoga practices.   The plant kingdom with essential qualities of medicine, the animal kingdom with their beautiful energy of living among their own beautiful families and so much more.

The sacred balance of meditation and yoga especially in group meditation and group yoga can help everyone experience the universal connection of a great sense of healing and is magnified by group efforts of meditation and yoga.

The inner wisdom of meditation and yoga  practice helps us gain energy, vitality, deeper insights and tap into a much deeper understanding of this wonderful journey we call life.   

As I grew older – I asked Mama Little Wolf and Papa Little Wolf what guided them the most during their sunrise and sunset ceremonies.    Their answer developed my journey of teaching and sharing wisdom which provides rare glimpses of the inner universe and powerful meditation.My signature statement through all of my meditations I have developed throughout the years is forever a statement of that mystical moment when we all can understand our efforts, our questions, our journey.    Here is the statement that is used within all my meditations and stems from the wonderful teachings of our Apache tradition.    ” All that I am, All that I was, All that I have done, All that has been done to me, has brought me to this very sacred moment in time.”  And so it is with our meditation and yoga practice we are growing and awakening and discovering more and more about ourselves.   And to be brave to share our light and practice with others, especially with our families and all who need to be inspired to share their unique qualities on Mother Earth.  This was to be the auspicious launching of my yoga and meditation practice and helped me with my great purpose.   I trust this Apache family story inspires you to enjoy your yoga and meditation practice and I look forward to hearing your wonderful stories.

A Special New Year Message from Billie Topa Tate…

Welcome to 2019 and all the wonderful information and journey this New Year will bring!

As Native people we believe that all the planets in the universe are very old and evolved beings which emanate energies to balance the universe. Just like our beautiful mountains that generate healing energy for all.  We also believe the mountains are beautiful and evolve spirits who maintain that space for people to refresh their spirit and bring them back to their great purpose… to experience and contribute to this wonderful world in a good and virtuous way.

Here are some insights I received during my meditation on the planets and asking the questions regarding what will be coming up for the New Year…

  • There is a shift in the approach to life.  Awareness starts to be the key element that drives many of the innovations regarding 2019 and 2020.
  • This is the year of mastering your skills – for those of you who wish to take initiative to become experts in your field.
  • Wisdom filled planning and determination will start to culminate much more within the masses of communities in the world.

2019 is about learning that we have “this much energy”  and “this much time “ and to be mindful to partition the time and energy …

  • Virtuously mentor others
  • Experience joy and fun
  • Be creative and inventive
  • Seek out and share our own expertise to share with the world

New insights for 2019…

  • There will be new plant based food sources that will be developed that are healthier.
  • New companies will emerge with plant-based nutrients respective to supplements, nutrition and clothing.
  • Indigenous people will be sought out for timeless platforms of healing which will help many people.
  • Old platforms of business will still try to survive in the pharmaceutical region as well as the chemical region.  However, because of the platform of the internet there will be more studies and discussions throughout the regions of different public areas that will initiate great creativity, truths, time-tested nutrition’s and wellness life styles that will assist the people in their wellness.

Mantra to Promote a Healthy and Loving Way of Living

A long mystical time ago, there was a gift given to the world and the gift was healing energy.  This healing energy crosses the span of time and space.  This healing energy can be given out to everyone and everything by our intention and the power of our words.

The wonderful intention we have begins a formulation of healing energy and is further enhanced by the power of our words and the power of our thinking.   At times it can be very stressful in the world.  The gift we can give ourselves and others be it animal, plant, human or mother earth can be this wonderful gift of energy and the power of empowering words.

The Five Reiki Principles are guidelines that everyone can live by, to promote a healthy, loving way of living.

Mantra Suggested Instructions and Techniques…

  • Be in place of peace.

Special Aura Boosting Techniques by Billie Topa Tate

As a Native American Teacher I have learned the power of mystical moments. Many of my students talk about how lost they become during times of stress and how this de-vitalizes their life. The biggest obstacles regarding the stress levels are what I call “stress points”. These are experienced through, lack of time, lack of vitality and not being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. These qualities can be depleting and also cause our physical bodies to lose vitality, especially through lack of good quality sleep.

I was truly blessed to receive training on using what my teachers called ”Mystical Moments” to remove stress, transform energy and bring vitality back into the physical body.

What is a Mystical Moment and how do teachers use them..

A mystical moment is a powerful moment in time when we can introduce the body and the mind to healing energy that reboots our body, mind and spirit. This re-launches wonderful energy held within windows of time that are locked in our memory banks. These windows of time refresh and heal the body. Mystical moments are pivotal windows of time that are at our disposal any time and help de-stress our physical body and also help boost emotional peace where stress was previously present.

Mystical Moment Exercise #1

I call this exercise “Innocence Time” when we were just kids with all the innocence of a child. Do you remember when you were a little girl or little boy outside in the summer playing and having fun? Enjoying “Innocence Time” by laughing, having nothing to worry about, enjoying an ice cream, walking with friends, eating lots of good food, swimming, going to Disney World, taking a fun bike ride, making castles in the sand, seeing the sunset after a great day at the beach… you didn’t have a care in the world.  You were just in the moment of happiness.

Even as you think about these things at this moment… your breath has changed…. This energy is still within you.  You can un-lock it and bring forth a flood gate of happiness and healing energy with full force and remove all the stress that you are currently experiencing. By just taking 5 minutes 2 times a day to go to these places in our minds eye and reliving these wonderful carefree times.  Our bodies, our minds and spirits will be refreshed and our aura receives a boost of healing energy!

Here’s  a gentle and refreshing technique…

  • Close your eyes, take a nice deep breath, relax your shoulders, and exhale releasing all the tension in your face, neck and shoulders.
  • Then place your focus on your forehead, as if your forehead is a magical window that can take you back in time.
  • Imagine a time when you were young -having fun playing, with no worries, feeling protected, having no cares in the world.
  • See the picture, smell the fresh air, the warm breeze, the beautiful sun and feel the fun energy in your body.
  • Technique – Take time to play, laugh, experience no pain, have fun eating and maybe playing “kick the can with some friends”.  If you can’t re-create the past, create something new for example; something you like and enjoy being a kid again. Suggested – do this for a period of 5-10 minutes in the morning and possibly in the evening before bedtime. This mystical moment exercise is very powerful. If you like, you can add some music to it.

Mystical Moment Exercise #2

Get lost in sacred breath for a period of 10 minutes. Close your eyes, relax in a comfortable chair or rest in your bed and take a breath like you just won 10 million dollars. Think about what you would do with all the money you received. Walk thru all the great things you could have so that happiness for you and everyone you love can be now and forever present.
