Forest Bathing

July 8, 2023 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm CDT

Unwind, Connect with Nature, Improve Health

Forest Therapy, also known as Forest Bathing, is a relational practice that brings people
into deeper intimacy with natural places, including our natural self. It offers us the
possibility of meeting again the true essence of who we are. Forest Bathing comes from
the Japanese word Shinrin-Yoku which means, “taking in the atmosphere of the forest”.
Scientific research reports many health benefits attributed to forest therapy, such
as boosted immune function, improved cardiovascular and respiratory health, increased
focus and a lowering of stress and depression.

A 2-hour forest therapy walk typically covers less than a mile. On it you’ll be guided
through a sequence of forest bathing invitations designed to help you slow down. These
invitations will invite you to use your body’s senses to explore the intricate beauty of
nature. There will be time for sharing with others and at the conclusion, a sacred
gathering over tea.
