Give Yourself the Present of Presence
One of the best things you can do for your overall well being is to remain active and accountable for your own health choices. By this, I mean many of us go about the day mindlessly and simply going through the motions. We get hungry. We eat. We get thirsty. We drink. Tired? Sleep. But where is the enjoyment, the zest, the LIFE, in that way of living?
My suggestion for you is to, as much as you are able, to stay in the moment with your choices.
It is very easy to get a bag of chips and soda from the vending machine or a donut from the break room if you are absent minded and simply responding to your body’s queues of hunger and thirst. But if you are present and in the moment, you may realize that what you truly need is a glass of water and some sliced veggies and hummus instead. OR if you really want chips and soda, at least you can be in the moment with it and truly enjoy it.
Staying Accountable With Your Actions:
What I mean by accountable is if you are making choices absently, it is easier to pretend that it is out of your control. You ate the donuts because you don’t have will power or time or everyone else was eating them. You have removed your own responsibility for yourself.
But if you are truly present, you are naturally in control of your own actions and you can make choices fully aware of their benefits.
So take a deep breath and look around. We were blessed with five senses to experience this beautiful world. Enjoy!

Intuitive Eating and Cravings with Leslie Kemp
Leslie Kemp, CHHC. I have been actively involved in the health and wellness industry for over 15 years. I graduated from The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in 2000 as a massage therapist. This journey led me to also study aromatherapy, Thai bodywork, and Reiki. In my quest for studying and sharing healing modalities the missing component in my tool belt seemed obvious. Hippocrates said it best, “Let food be they medicine and medicine be thy food.” So I attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. During my training, I studied over 100 different dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.
I am a member of The International Association for Health Coaches. In my practice, I work with women who have lost their spark to help them get their sass back by empowering them to make lifestyle choices that will allow them to thrive.
In 2015, first of six supermoons comes on January 20
We will have six supermoons in 2015, and the first of the bunch is to fall on January 20, 2015.
What, you say? Supermoon? But the moon isn’t anywhere near full on this date! That’s right. This isn’t a full supermoon. Rather, it’s a new supermoon. In fact, the new moons on January 20, February 18 and March 20 all qualify as supermoons.
Each month, on the day of the new moon, the Earth, moon and sun are aligned, with the moon in between. This line-up creates wide-ranging tides, known as spring tides.
The January 20 extra-close new moon will accentuate the spring tide, giving rise to what’s called a perigean spring tide. If you live along an ocean coastline, watch for high tides caused by the January, February and March 2015 new moons – or supermoons.

What is a Chakra?
The Sanskrit word “chakra” means in literal terms: “spinning wheel”. The chakra system within the human body consists of 7 major chakras and many minor chakras. To those who can see energy fields, a major chakra resembles a spinning wheel when looking directly into the chakra. However, viewed from the side, it looks more like an energy vortex somewhat resembling the shape of a tornado. This energy funnel is tight and compact near the surface of the skin, and gradually widens as it extends outside the physical body to the outer edge of the aura.
What is the purpose or function of the human chakra system?
To take in higher-dimensional energy from the Universal Energy Field all around us and translate or step down its frequency of vibration to that which can be used within the physical body. Each major chakra vibrates or spins at a different rate, and each chakra will absorb energy from the UEF that is harmonically related to its own frequency. Thus, energy from several frequency bands within the UEF is absorbed by the different chakras and is directed by the internal energy meridians to those organs with which that chakra is associated:
Major Chakras and Associated Organs and Glands.
Chakra | Associated Organs | Endocrine Gland |
Crown | Upper Brain, Right Eye | Pineal |
Brow | Ears, Nose, Lower Brain, Nervous System, Left Eye |
Pituitary |
Throat | Lungs, Larynx, Alimentary Canal | Thyroid, Parathyroid |
Heart | Heart, Blood, Vagus Nerve, Circulatory System |
Thymus |
Solar Plexus | Stomach, Gall Bladder, Liver | Pancreas |
Sacral | Reproductive System | Testes, Ovaries |
Root | Spinal Column, Kidneys | Adrenals |
Many minor chakras are also located throughout the body, and are usually associated with joints such as the knee, shoulder, elbow, etc. Additional minor chakras are found in the palms of both hands and the soles of the feet, and the ends of the fingers and toes.
How can we keep our energy field clean and healthy?
Attending a class is a wonderful step to learn and understand the energy field and the Chakra system. At MSI-Healing, The Chakra Cleaning Class also includes insightful information about our energetic anatomy, as well as, how to keep our energy field and chakras clean, balanced, and energized. The energy centers are believed to be located along the spine – which is also called the column of light and has specific purposes both mystically and physically.
Billie Topa Tate provides a wonderful class of advanced information regarding our chakra system. She reviews how the chakra system is related to the planets, physical organs, our vitality and our great purpose and so much more.
